Hamilton’s is a small independent publisher, with a small retail showroom and offices based in the heart of historic Centertown Bedford, near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Bedford is about 200 miles southwest of Washington, DC, between Roanoke and Lynchburg. Hamilton’s has been a member of the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce since 1980. Its unique name website URL, peterv.com, was selected to distinguish this site from many others which use the word Hamiltons in one way or another. Hamilton’s publishes quality works of history which include authoritative text and extensive pictorial content of photographs and drawings. Most are original works; some are reprints of long-extinct books of special merit. Its most popular books are by historian Peter Viemeister. A few selected titles from other publishers are included on this site because those books are particularly relevant to the people and history of the Bedford area. Recently we have begun offering a limited selection of rare books. Books are sold to individuals, libraries, and dealers throughout the United States and the world.
